Woo!  I just did feedback for everyone who has already signed up!  We've got more spinners than crafters right now!

oh my - -
this might really sway me into joining.....
I figured there would be way more crafters than spinners, and that
there might be a chance of not getting handspun yarn!
(my ultimate goal in joining this one....)

If you need another spinner, let me know and I'll sign up.  I learned to spin because I never got any in a swap and I was frustrated desperately wanting some, so I finally learned.  I LOVE spinning.

Right now it doesn't look like it, but if you need a spinner to send to two crafters, I can definitely do that. This sounds like a super cool idea, and a super cool way to get even more use out of my new spinning wheel. Grin

Shoot, if we have NEW spinners, I'd even sign up to get some newbie yarn!  I reallhy have to set and think to spin the thick & thin now and would love to get some in exchange for lace - DK weith 2-ply yarns!

Uh-oh, are you talking about me? I've been drop spindling for some time, so I found the transition to spinning wheel to be pretty easygoing (well.. it took me a couple hours to figure out exactly how this new, fancy machine worked, but the fiber pulling and twist aspects are the same). My yarns aren't that thick and thin. Sad

Edited to add: I agree with myklia below me. It was such a relief to be able to spin things that aren't just slubby all over.

Mine on average is worsted weight with some thin spots and the occasional thick blob. My spinning has gotten so much better.  I still haven't had the pleasure of touching a wheel, but now that I am more comfortable with my drop spindles it isn't as high of a priority.  I would like to go to a fiber festival to try out different wheels so I know what I like and see if it is worth it for me the spend the money.

Just a quick question, thinking about signing up. Can I choose either spinner or crafter to sign up as? I can technically spin, but I've only ever made about 5 skeins. I'd also love to recieve some handspun, and as I can do other crafts (like sewing, crocheting, jewellery making etc), would it be acceptable for me to sign up as a crafter?

That would be just fine!  Even if you are a great spinner, you could still sign up as a crafter and receive some handspun!

I think I normally spin somewhere between sport and worsted.  I really like to spin finer, though, so I think I want to try spinning more around fingering/sport for this swap.  I know it doesn't look super cool like those bumpy-arty yarns, but it is more satisfying to me right now to spin more evenly.  I mostly do double ply yarns.

I love double ply handspun!  It is so lovely!

MLF, I think you should sign up for this swap -- we need you in the conversation!  I miss you!
