Crafting to keep insanity at bay.

I got together with AsphaltQueen and Superhooker to make this fantastic gingerbread house. We ended up running out of icing so substituted some melted down marshmallows in its place -> funny story: apparently if you use really old stale marshmallows they don't actually melt down but rather turn into this alien like snotty substance that is insanely sticky. At least it suited our purposes haha.

Here is the GB House wide shot

Yes! That is a pond! Made of jello with swedish fish stuck in it.

Superhooker was AWESOME and made these clear candy windows. INSANELY COOL!

Another angle of the house with better picture of pond with fish. Ignore the fact that it is slowly falling apart haha.

Oh noos it's falling and it can't get up. It did actually stand on its own...for about 15 seconds...that counts  Roll Eyes

An in-progress pic; look at that goop!

Obligatory alien goop shot; it really wouldn't come off!

We may not win but we had a ton of fun!!!

I love the roof and the pond.  Not to mention the window so cool!  It was all very inventive I would not have thought to try and use marshmellows as glue.  Wink

Thanks guys! We were originally shooting for the moon but make our ideas a little more realistic with the time frame we were working in. The pond and windows are the stars of the show  Grin

I adore the pond; Sweedish fish are my favorite candy of all time!  I also love your sense of humor.  You obviously had a blast doing this project.  I think the whole thing came out very well!

Holy crap!  it was sooo fun!

I cannot even begin to describe how sticky the alien marshmallow snot was...I think NASA should look into that stuff for adhesive purposes!

SheepBlue did the roof, and it came out so cute!  and AQ baked all of that gingerbread (AND she was the mastermind of the bushes...she can really whip a bush into shape!)

(thats what she said)
