Hello!  We had a crafty evening round these parts . . . inspired by this post:

I made some pretty pencils to match a few decoupaged Crystal Light containers that the man I take care of made for his sisters.  Unfortunately some of the pencils got eaten in the sharpener, because I stupidly didn't let the paper dry enough.

I also made some super simple Christmas cards to use up excess Modge Podge.

Rock on!

Pretty pencils and cards, Rockon. Great of you to be so creative with the man, you take care of.
And Ranty - I admirer your needlework. I wish I could do the same.

I haven't started anything yet.

first things first, canadian envelope swap, advent calendar swap, stocking stuffer swap, Christmas presents.

Looking for Sophia the first fabric and Frozen fabric (preferably flannel, but would settle for cotton) and Phoomph.  I'm in Canada and the companies are that I could order from charge $20-$30 shipping, so if anybody can find some and wants to swap/sell, I would be eternally greatfull.

I finally finished another Christmas gift.  Behold, a pair of fingerless mittens I made from this ravelry pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/stockinette-mitts

Very quick (I made one in an evening of industriousness, the other I spread over a week or so) and not hard at all.  Here they are together:

And here I am modelling one (it is hard to photograph your own hand!):

They are for a friend who has carpal tunnel.  Her hands are always cold but she needs fingers free to type.

Rock on!

I'm pluggin' away Crusaders! I just finished 24 ornaments! I give an ornament to every household in my immediate family each year. The rest I will slip into a few extra special Christmas cards. I am giving one ornament away over on my blog! http://blog.geekxnerd.com/2010/10/holiday-handmade-crusade-christmas.html If any of you are interested, you can comment by 10/27 for a chance to win!

This was a quick wam, bam, thank you m'am kind of project. The designs are made using different stitches on my sewing machine.

How are you all doing on your lists? I'm feeling super energized right now!  Grin

Stoliedina, those are awesome.

I am working on another pair of fingerless mittens for the client I work with during the mornings.  Her hands are always like ice. I am conceptualizing a set of gift certificates for specific meals for my friend.  Top of my list right now is the-shawl-that-never-ends that I am making my cousin for Hanukkah (there are only 39! days til Hanukkah -- 62! til Christmas).  I was hoping to have made a HUGE dent in my coaster/placemat/napkins for my moms but it has not happened.  And my cousin's husband needs a hat for Hanukkah, too -- AHHH.  The best laid plans . . .

Good luck all!

Rock on!

lovely ornaments--they turned out very elegant!

i did a little organizing of my xmas-gift box and realized that I've overproduced for xmas this year.  i have more gifts than I need!  i guess that's OK.  Smiley
