Great ornaments! Love the idea of tucking some ornaments into extra-special Christmas cards, I might have to steal your idea there. Smiley

Looking for Sophia the first fabric and Frozen fabric (preferably flannel, but would settle for cotton) and Phoomph.  I'm in Canada and the companies are that I could order from charge $20-$30 shipping, so if anybody can find some and wants to swap/sell, I would be eternally greatfull.

I made a couple eye pillows to give away as gifts, and have the materials for lots more (yay!).  I thought I would make some hot/cold packs, also, different sizes.

The printed fabrics are cases that close with Velcro, inside is a muslin pouch.  I like the Asian-inspired flannel with "calm" "serene" etc on it for eye pillows.  Very apropos.  The orange fabric has swirlies/spirals on it in a lighter orange. Can't really see it in the pics.I take awful pics.

Enjoy!

The pillows together:

And separately:

Next year I'm going to be all over this.
I want to knit stockings for the family but at the rate I knit they will never get done for this year.
I keep thinking about how many decorations and little gifts I could have gotten done but never did...

Yup. I'm going to lurk here for the rest of the year and be all of this come January...

Hello all!

I do not have any photos of my progress, but I wanted to check in. I am working on a pair of thrummed mittens for my mom. I have one mitten done, and have started the cuff of the other. Even though I have not been quite as craftastic as usual this year, I am still in good shape on my list. Holiday Handmade Crusade=Stress Free Holiday!!!

How are you all doing on your lists? Less than two months, can you believe it?

And newbies, thanks for dropping in! I definitely look forward to you joining us in January!

Love, Your Craftastic Christmas Crusader

I guess everyone is busy crafting away!  I finished the shawl that never ends!  And in time for my cousin's Hanukkah present!  Yay!  Now I have to get cracking on her husband's hat . . . then onto finishing Christmas stuff.  After December 1 I will have a bit of a break from school (no deadlines until after the holidays) and will go into serious crafting mode.

Here are a couple of pics of the shawl that never ends (so named because I have been knitting it since July!)

Just a plain pic of it on my messy dining room table:

And an action shot (on my roommate  Smiley)

Happy Crafting!!!

Hi Again!

I know this isn't the most unique gift, but I made a set of gift certificates for a dear friend for meals.  She doesn't cook and eats here a lot, but then feels guilty and scours my kitchen.  While I don't mind not having to clean, I thought she'd like a free pass every once in a while.  The gift certificates are for:

2 for meals of her choice with leftovers for later
1 free pass on a pot luck -- she can choose between chili, carrot-ginger bisque, macaroni-and-cheese, and cream of sweet potato soup for the crowd of her choice (she's always getting herself into those things and the last one she signed up for almost had her swinging at the end of her rope!)
1 Mexican Rice meal with leftovers
1 soup and salad meal with homemade wheat bread (she can choose between matzo ball, carrot-ginger bisque, and cream of sweet potato)
1 Chili and rice meal with leftovers
1 jar of homemade applesauce
1 loaf of fresh-baked wheat bread
1 loaf of fresh-baked banana bread
and . . .
5 bagged lunches (she can choose tuna, chicken, or egg salad with yogurt, apple, carrots, and almonds as sides)

I can't really afford as nice a gift as I'd like to get for her, and thought this was generous and thoughtful.  I printed them out on cardstock and wrote "Three days notice required by the chef" on the more expensive/labor intensive meal tickets.

Here they are packaged up:

Thanks!
