I made myself a hat to go with my new coat, and my husband decided he wanted a hat as well, but something manly. So, I headed over to Ravelry and found the pattern A Hat Fit for a Boyfriend: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/a-hat-fit-for-a-boyfriend . I had some black Cascade 220 Wool in my stash that I used (because the hubbs said the green yarn I wanted to use wasn't manly enough). Knit on US 8 circulars, I CO 10 extra sts. just so it wouldn't be too tight and give him hat hair.

The hubbs wouldn't stop playing computer games long enough to let me get a good picture.

The decreasing ribs:

Ignore the dog hair...two dogs and black wool don't mix.

C/C welcome

Your hubby's hat looks great! I really like the charcoal color.

Were you able to knit the whole thing on circular needles, or did you switch to dpns? My goal this year is to learn to knit in the round. Cheesy
