This is my first entry on craftster- I've been so inspired by everyone on this board. I always make a gingerbread house for Christmas-but this is my first Christmas with my fiance so I wanted to do something special. Since we are both uber book geeks I decided on a Hobbit house. I spread the gingerbread onto a metal bowl which was raised up on a metal rack to make it look like a hobbit hill. Then I cut off part of the front and put in the flat front with the door. Here are the pics (excuse their blurriness as I had to use my phone camera)- have a happy new year  Smiley

I didn't want it be too simple- thus the jelly beans. ~It isn't terribly clear in the pictures, but there is a tree on the right side of the house made of licorice, watermelon bubblegum and spearmint drops- because this is where the gingerbread cracked while baking Smiley
Thanks for looking

Hee hee, I love the idea of a hobbit hole gingerbread house. Great idea using the watermelon gumballs, too. What's the stuff around the round door?

So cute!

The candies around the door are sesame candies. They were the first to be devoured Smiley
