so, wet felting has kept me sane the last two months. it's so great for relieving frustration! all that rolling, rubbing and beating does wonders at easing my mind haha. especially when I get to beat the hell out of it in the fulling process (ok so I'm not THAT rough with them...)

anywho, this is what I've been up to! I'd love to know what you think!

more pictures

they're all seamless except for the one of the top left which closes with a button made by loudxmouse Cheesy
oh and they're reversible so you can have two different looks with one cowl. I made them with merino, bamboo, silk, and some have alpaca (which I found out is a bit scratchy when felted) anyone else felt with alpaca and find it less scratchy?

edit:
these were made for the shop the swap secret santa. I was crafting for the awesome sheepblue!

cell phone case made specifically for her phone (I'm sneaky Cheesy) it's made of 19 micron merino so it wont scratch her phone.

tampon cozy! lined with houndstooth. I made the felt, sewed it to the fabric, then hand stitched it into a pouch using blanket stitch.

Nesse, if you don't mind explaining your process, that'd be awesome!

I'm in the middle of felting some cowls (as in, I started them a month before Christmas and they're half felted hanging up all sad). I had trouble getting them very thin, which was what I wanted. Do you have a good method for achieving the thinness you get?

Most of my cowls are actually fairly thick. but if you want them thinner, just lay out less layers of wool Smiley if you are felting a batt to make your neckwarmer (which I think is how yours were made, correct me if I'm wrong) try splitting the batt in half and spreading it out so it's not as thick.

did that help at all? Cheesy

I might give a larger felted piece a whirl, I've done lots of small things...  I need to look through my fiber and find some soft stuff.
