Yes, a BIG thanks to the organizers, and all the lovely swappers here!  This was my first bday swap, and I have to admit I'm hooked.  I'll be joining up in other months, too, so I can send some happy birthday surprises just like I received!

Okay, so.. I opened the most amazing swap package today from Troublet!!

.. it all started this morning, I went out for breakfast, and got the package before class. Here is Mortimer The Sock Monkey, 10mins after meeting, as I forced him to come to class with me today

"No Paulina! I don't WANT TO GO INTO YOUR SMELLY BAG FILLED WITH TEXTBOOKS AND DASUHDKJSAHDKHASKD"

We got home and... "Mortimer, please can I take a picture of you? PLEASE?"


..."No, it has to be with everything I recieved from Troublet.. please? PLEASSSSSSSSE? I'LL GIVE YOU CHOCOLATE???!?!?! "


We made a deal. He has too much power over me... 
..look at that satisfied smirk.. *sigh* 



inside was:
3 packs of scrapbooking gemstones, a huge pack of scrapbooking pages, A WHOLE BRAND NEW PACK OF FINE LINE SHARPIES!!, birthday card, and Tazo tea, and the star of the show: Mortimer the sock monkey. (named appropriately after Robert Munsch's book)   .. and yes, he arrived in the package with arms crossed! LOL. *please note: HE HAS A BELLY BUTTON. I laughed so hard when I saw it *

Mortimer is too cute!  I'll have to put a sock monkey on my list next year - they're just fun to have.

Very well made washcloths and a scrubbie one - it does seem a shame to use them, doesn't it?!  I'll have to admire them for awhile before they make it into the sink!  Although the bigger one is headed to the bath ...    And a cute little kitchen witch with lots of positive energy attached to it.  She's definitely needed in my kitchen - my cooking skills are severely lacking - I'll take all the magick I can get!

And my extras:



A couple thread crochet books.  I'm going to try and make the doll for my granddaughter (and the hobby horse for myself!)  Finally something to make besides snowflakes.  And a skein of alpaca - I love adding different yarns to my collection.  I've always been a redheart (read: cheap) crocheter and until I found Craftster I just didn't even realize other yarn existed!

Well, the hairsticks and beads I made for BertaBerta just came out of the oven, and they're lookin' fine Hoping to send off tomorrow!

Here's the amazing package I received from phnxreign99.



There's some fantastic vintage fabric, that I think I'll use to make some cushion covers. It fits perfectly with some 1960's chairs I have. Lots of wooden beads. A cupcake pincushion, amo penguin, needlebook and penguin keyring.



I love the penguin, he's taken up residence on my bookcase. I'm trying to stop my boyfriend from stealing him.



The little bird on the needlebook is so cute. He looks great.
