I haven't done it, but I think you pretty much make a border around a block with a sc, ch 3, sc pattern (or something like it). Then, on the next block, before you make the second sc, you take the hook out, stick it through the ch 3 loop on the first block and then make the sc.

You end up with an interlocking border with each block secured to the next.

That's not the best explanation... and I'm not sure it's a ch3 loop... but the finished product looks really nice. I saved the directions somewhere, but I just realized what time it is and I have to get going... I can look it up later, if needed Wink

Oooooh! I like that color combo! It makes me think of mysterious, misty, moonlit nights!
Thank you!

Thanks! I think I get the general idea, I can look it up. No need for you to do it. I always do better if I get a visual anyway. I'm sure that it looks really nice. And its secure. A bit fussy, but worth the effort in the long run. Some of my squares already have a sc row around them. But not all. Too bad I didn't think about this ahead of time.....

I am in!  I haven't done much crocheting in a long time.  I bought some yarn yesterday and finished it last night.  I will post a picture once I find the ever elusive digital camera.

I made some mistakes - it was pretty ruffly looking until I tried to block it.

Can't wait to see your block, Susan! You need to have 10 posts before you can post a photo, but maybe by then you'll have located your camera Wink

If my internet ever starts working again, I can insert your pics for you if you upload them to the Craftster picture hosting. It's the most fun mod duty, imo! Smiley

(I think it will work for other pic hosting sites as well, but I'm not positive.)

Here ya go!  I think I started too tight and then missed a bunch of sc's.  Even after trying to block it, it's still kinda ruffly.

I think it looks great! I don't see the ruffles. Mine turned out a bit ruffly too, I think some patterns are more prone to that (or some patterns when combined with crocheters like me  Grin)

A bunch of mine are ruffly, too, but I figured that once I attach them all together it'll flatten them out a bit Wink

Very nice; it doesn't look ruffly at all. Some of my 2009 ones start looking like sea slugs.  Tongue
