You may have seen my miniature "Faerie Hutches" before around this board. I've posted a few of them over the years. (Such as a holiday Elf Hutch - or two! - A Spooky Halloween Hutch - or two - and even a knitting and tea one.)

Well, I danced in round 15 of the Invite Your Partner swap with the lovely Tanza. And she really loved my hutches. So as a surprise, I made my first ever one for a swap. (I don't normally do them for swaps since they take about two weeks and countless hours to complete.) She's received, so I wanted to share it with everyone.

I painted it in a blue/chocolate brown combo based on her color preferences. And I made it very "witchy" with lots of magical supplies.

And a close-up of the items within. Spellbooks, a fern, a pentacle and potion bottles on the top shelf; "morning sunlight," "sands of time," and "true love" bottled on the second shelf along with a wand and Ouija board; a crystal ball, palmistry poster, two white candles, a chalice, a silver platter and a skull on the bottom shelf.


Whoops! Forgot to mention, it's 1:12 scale miniature in dollhouse parlance and is about 7.5" high and about 4" wide. It's just a bit taller then a 12oz soda can. (If you look through the links of ones I posted over the years, I have size reference pics in a couple of them.)

I really had fun making this as a surprise for her and I hope she greatly enjoys it. Every time I make one, it's a challenge - like a puzzle - getting all the right pieces to go together in just the right way. Grin

I never would have guessed this was a minature. I saw the thumbnail and was thinking I wanted something similar for my kitchen - only grown up sized!!

I love them and would like to have lots, but my local craft store stopped carrying them, and at any rate they were pretty expensive for just a package of three of them. Do you buy them in bulk somewhere?

Not really bulk but I buy them in lots on ebay.
