So on Thursday I had no work due to Wednesdays storm knocking out the power. I spent the afternoon making jump rings out of wire I had bought for the purpose of making chainmail jewelry. On Friday I could not move my hand at all due to the carpletunel kicking in from all the cutting of wire the day before. I was too busy Saturday to start and so yesterday before I went to my grandmothers for the picnic, I finally started.

While technically I did just by the wire on Thursday, I used some of it up already. The pendant on it came from an old necklace. It looks a bit messy so I don't think I did it quite right, but I'm still happy for my first try.

Very pretty! I've been wanting to try that for a while but it'll have to wait until I free up some more time and space for a new craft.

Cool gloves! What a gorgeous colour.

I like that blue flower too, so pretty. This fabric flower thing is evolving in such interesting directions. There is such of lot fo diversity, it's really neat.

J Kieviet, you are a storm trooper of destasholating! You post such long lists of stuff you've gotten rid of. It's really inspiring.

I've got a few dresses, tops and shorts on the go for the girl now and plans for a skirt of two. Once I try out the pattern and tweak it a bit, it goes pretty fast. These tiny clothes, they take no time at all compared to ones for me! I'm busting my old tshirt stash like mad too, it's down to not much at all, pretty soon it'll be all gone. Do you know how long I've had all these shirts? Gah, it's been ages! I can't believe I'll have used them all up soon... What a feeling! Now I know better, I won't buy anything I don't have immediate plans for. It's ridiculous to save this much stuff for "some day". Turns out "some day" is often a few years away for me!

I love the little t-shirt dresses!  Seriously, they look so professionally done and I would not have guessed theywere recons!

Heini--the lace wristwarmers are awesome...

wow Sansa--you have been very busy

I am following the rose saga--so many cool links and of course, more projects to add to the list of things to try!

My big destash was that I made three cushions for my cat carriers, using flannel, cute animal fabric that I had left over from a Humane Society benefit, and scraps of batting!

I also cut out focus squares for my QFK future projects using up almost all of my kid friendly stash!! YAY!

It was too hot to sew the fleece throws for my nephews so I put them back into the project bin for cooler days!  Fleece sure takes up a lot of space...I am not going to buy anymore except ONE project at a time! Sad

Sansa--your knits are all lovely.  Smiley

If you have kids and plastic beads to destash, I found this Japanese tutorial (while looking for my roses in Japan, lol). It's nothing to do with what I'm looking for, but I thought they were cute.
Beaded flower brooch

It can be hard to figure out what to make with paddle-wheel beads, but this project gallops through them. I imagine you could use any sort of textured or interesting big bead for the centers.

Oh Sansa, I hate to think how long (and how much cussing) it would take me to make even one of those pieces. I'm impressed!

And Danni, wow, that's all from stash? Amazing! Love the lapghan, so beautiful.

I'm working away on getting the rest of the clothes I cut out for my girl all put together. Slow going, I spent most of the day ransacking the studio looking for my machine manuals, I put them somewhere "smart" Tongue.

That afghan is terrific.  The colors kind of go with the Sailor Moon stuff in an odd sort of way.  I am in awe of the patience it must have taken to finish all those hexagons.
