Two zippered pouches, the smaller is already in use. Also a maze book for chili notes. We have 8 types of chili growing and need to write down how many seeds sprouted etc.

are the pouches velvet? what are you using them for?

I wish we were gardening!  Hubby and I grow 8 - 10 varieties of peppers as well...why do you keep notes? Do you grow them for sale?

The pouches are some fancy slippery fabric. Would be good for an evening dress, but I had only small piece. The smaller pouch is now in my purse and it holds lip balm and other small things. I don't know what I'll do with the bigger one yet.

I keep notes because I can't remember everything. With my notes I'll know when and how many seeds I should plant following years, and which chilies fit our taste best. If I plant 6 and they all sprout I know next year I need to plant only 2 or 3. But if only 1/6 sprout, I might plant more next year. And if they start to bloom very late, like in august, I'll start growing earlier next year. The plants easily die during winter (especially annuum type chilies) because it's so dark and we don't have extra lights for them.

Great idea, your chili book!  I have a similar garden book...I know what varieties do well, how many peppers, tomatoes, etc. we got--which ones did not like the drought, etc. Very cute idea...I love it! Maybe if I made the book now, spring will get here faster!

****confession time:  I could not resist...I bought more yarn (12 skeins)...I feel like a junkie!....

Love the gardening book idea!  It's almost time to start this year's seedling - think I'll make one of these myself.

Speaking of making things, I was looking for inspiration and came across a dotee swap.  I fell in love with the idea, and this is the result:

His name is Jack Daw, and I made him as a Valentine gift for my husband.  Hubby is a bit of a corbie himself - loud, mischevious, and VERY fond of shiny things!

12 More skeins of yarn? Do you have PLANS for it?Huh That's enough to make an Afghan, or two!

Papertabby:I love the crazy crow! Where is he going to keep it? It looks like there's a hanging loop for it.

I had to get yarn for my shawl--I needed 4 skeins of the same color...then I have baby hats to make for a charity and needed bright colors so I got 3 different skeins...one basic black to make a fantastimio reversible hat...2 skeins of rainbow redheart for kitten hats, so only two were "impulse"! Yeah, I can justify my yarn purchases like any good junkie... Wink
