I got a new coat this winter and decided I needed a hat to match, so I searched Ravelry and found this pattern: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/who-2 and fell in love with it. I was a bit intimidated because I've only been knitting for a few months, but I decided to try it. I figured if it turned out bad, I'd frog it.

But I'm in love with it! It was such an easy knit, and it turned out so well. I used Cascade 220 wool, which I loved working with.

And me in the hat:

I got a bit impatient and started decreasing before I should've. I might make another one in a bit bigger size.

Thanks for looking! C/C appreciated!

I love owls!  That hat is adorable.  Okay, so you say you're a new knitter. . . I am as well, and have never done anything in the round.  I've done a couple hats but mostly scarves and headbands so far.  But if you say it's easier than it looks, maybe I'll just give it a whirl!

It looks great, I love the owls--so cute!   Grin

I just really started knitting last year and the first thing I made was a hat in the round, it way way easy. I'm making another one right now with cables, they're really easy too, I don't know what I was so scared about  Roll Eyes Maybe next time I'll try this pattern.

I was nervous to knit in the round and to do cables, but with the help of YouTube and a crafty friend who knits, I was fine. I know the woman at my LYS offered to help with the cables if I needed it. If you have any problems, you might want to try a craft place of some sort. They'd probably be happy to help.  Grin

But definitely try!!

And thank you so much for the comments!

I love the yarn, it looks so soft and beautiful. You did a great job on this hat, for sure. Knitting in the round and cables look WAY harder than they actually are.
