This is my first time posting one of my projects, so feedback would be appreciated.

I made this gold journal for my Nannies b-day, hope she loves it!

The paper on the inside is computer paper and has a ink pen stamp on every page. I made the stamp out of a potato. (making a potato stamp was just as fun and making the journal) I then took a old crayon and made a ink mark coming out of the ink pen. The hard part of the cover is made from cardboard I found. I covered the journal with some material I found a scrap store and then put a gold metal object on the front I found at the scrap store to.

I had a fun time making this journal and I am already planning on making more!!

Thanks for looking!

It looks very nice.  How is it bound?

I sewed the paper together with dental floss at four places. It took a little bit but it was worth it. Then I glued the edge where I sewed the pages together and put wax paper on it (so the wax paper was glued to the pages). Then I glued the wax paper with one page of paper between the cover and inside detail cover page.

So what does the wax paper do?  Is it for flexibility?

I like the idea of using dental floss.  When I made my journal, I used hemp, and it was a bit heavy.

I'm not 100% sure what the wax paper is for. I assume it is to help keep the pages bound to the cover. If I only glued a page of the writing paper down it would be more likely to tear out.

Well, I'm going to try your technique and see how I like it.
