Have you used your YUDU with non-YUDU emulsion?

Wondering if anyone has successfully used their YUDU with non-yudu emulsion?? A bottle of photo emulsion stuff costs $4.99 from dharma trading and is MUCH cheaper than those emulsion sheets!! I'm afraid to try it because i don't want to ruin a screen...but I just may. Anyone out there tried?

 no but tell me if it works, i just purchased 10 sheets of emulsion off ebay that are off brand for 30 bones, which i thought was a good deal, but 7 screens for 5 bones is defn much better

i havent, but I have read on yuduforums.com that people use liquid emulsion and it works well for them.  I am just starting out, not ready to try that yet...but I did find 20 emulsion sheets for $42 with free shipping from www.emulsionsheets. com.  They shipped quick and it looks just like the yudu brand....

There is a video tutorial on http://diyteeshirts.com/yudu_screen_hack it wont ruin your screen, but you do have to get the right emulsion. I haven't tried it, I just got my yudu yesterday but I'm researching it. I think the best emulsion is the premixed kind. seems easy for beginners or if you wont do a lot of screenprinting. The emulsion sheets take waaay to long to dry. Liquid is so much cheaper. they have really good prices on www.screenprintings upplies.com I know you can use regular inks to but of course yudu will tell u not to do any of this. I plan on trying regular inks to save money.

I know this is kind of late for you guys but I'm posting this just in case someone else happens along here. I use liquid emulsion on my yudu screens with great results! and Its wayyyy more cost effective! I get mine here

I've used speedball emulsion with what look like good results (haven't printed with it yet).  I exposed it for 8 minutes.

I have also done it. I have the Hack the Yudu kit, and it works great for me. The only two things to keep in mind are that liquid emulsion works best if you use a scoop coater to apply it, and also once it is mixed it only lasts for about three months...so to some extent, the price comparison depends on how frequently you use emulsion. But personally, I find it simpler than the sheets, as well as cheaper.

A few years ago I bought an $80 roll of emulsion "cappilary film" paper from Lawson screen printing and it worked very well up until recently. I think it has expired or something because it has stopped adhering to the screen like it used to, 2 years ago. The website doesn't sell this exact thing any more, but the point to be made is that using other products with the Yudu can be done with success,
