Sent this off to my mother-in-law and she actually got it in time for Christmas.  Wasn't expecting that.  The pieced top was actually done over 20 years ago before we even got married, but I never actually quilted it properly so took it apart.  Loved it and saved it and used it covering a big window for many, many years with always the intent to finish it properly.  My MIL (?) had to move from warm sunny Florida, to cold and snowy and hates the cold, so I decided she deserved a quilt.

There's both hand and machine quilting.  Some done the right way, some done the wrong way on both types.  I think its about 52 inches square.  I was amazed to find a backing that worked so well.  It's actually a really nice flannel and just made the weatherd top look like it was supposed to be that way.

I hope this all posts fine.  My first attemptwas unsuccessful with my first finished quilt about 3 years ago.  Yeah it does take me that long to get back to something.

Inside a dog it's too dark to read.

I have a few very old projects like that (10 or 15 years) that I hope to put to bed in 2010. It feels good to finish them off finally, doesn't it? I'm sure it will be enjoyed, especially with the flannel back. Nice and snuggly. :-)

It is good to finish of some of these old projects.  Another piece I have up on my design wall (just a plain old wall with some big straight pins) has some Seminole patchwork bands in it from almost as long ago as this one.  It's the quilt-as-you-go method and I just have to keep the 'go' part going. HA!
