Bookmark Swap- Rd. 2 SENDOUT DATE HAS CHANGED!!! IT IS NOW: 1/19/10

Okay, so my roommate is a freakin' idiot lol.  He was nice enough to go get the mail for us the other day and remembers to tell us today.  He says I got 5 letters, of course I'm thinking they're bookmarks from you guys.

Since I'm an idiot too, I open the envelope without paying attention or checking the name to find an identical bookmark to the one I sent lydiaharper.  At this point, I'm really confused...  then it dawns on me... he got the mail BEFORE it was out, and I just opened my own envelope.  ARGH.

So, I'm going to remail Monday.  And check the envelope before opening it next time.

I am so sorry.  I thought I had sent out the bookmarks with a few other things I was sending out and I just found them in my car.  This is what I get for trying to do errands with a teen that wants to get to her friends house and a 6 yr old that wants to go get more trains. 

I have sent them today.  I should pay better attention to what I am doing.

I have done that.  Gotten the mail before it was actually sent.  We have a system that my husband gets the mail and then it gets handed out.  It hasn't worked very well, so I end up going thorugh it and putting back the things that he needs vs what I need or for the kids.  It works.

That's one good thing about not being able to mail from your mailbox in Canada, I guess.  I've never been able to come up with an up-side, but that's good.  I have to take it to the post office or put it in a red mailbox somewhere in town...that part is kind of a pain since it can be hard to find them.  I'm jealous of people who have one practically in their front yard.  Since I grew up in the states, it was a hard thing to adjust to.

I live in a super tiny town and they only have mailboxes on one street, everyone else has to have a po box, which is a pain as well because they have the most insane hours, they arnt even open on the lunch hour! wtf?! they drive me nuts!

my first receiver got hers a few days ago. i dont get why my other 3 haven't gotten theirs at the same time... I mailed out all together.

We have to deal with a PO box as well. That is why i don't always get around to checking my mail. It is impossible to get there on the days I work. Or on saturdays, even if I am off. Luckily I call in most of my bills, I had one late this month as I was out of stamps.

Our P.O. is run by angry po'd old bats who randomly close early  and yell at you.  Seriously.

I walked in a couple minutes before 4:30, noticing that the door said Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM. As I was trying to find the address to go on package on my phone, the 2 ladies at the counter turned the lights off on me, and started making comments about how I should be bringing them dinner, noting when I looked them, "Yea, we're talking to you". I get to the counter ready to go a couple minutes after 4:30, and am informed that they had closed at 4:30, even though their door says 5. I decided not to ship the package because of the exorbitant prices, at which point I was told, "Well thanks for making us stay late!" (note this was 5 minutes after 4:30). I worked in the service industry for over 5 years, and if I had ever made those comments to a customer I would have been fired on the spot. I guess its okay though when you have a monopoly on the postal business...‎

Yeah.

And our UPS sucks, too. bah

I think it's absolutely disgusting how they're allowed to act. When I went in to post a package with my mother, the man who was taking my package said it would have been a lot easier if I had put my Delivery confirmations on myself.
Um... easier for who? It's like, I'm sorry, what's YOUR job again? Stand there all day basically? He was making smart@$$ comments to an older woman too.
But there are others at my post office who are really nice. Two of them I know for sure are. I just DREAD going and seeing who's going to take my packages though.
