I have a craftser related question/problem and I dont know where to go to ask.. I figured you lovely ladies could help tell me where to go..

One of my projects on my list was to be a swap angel. I voulenteered to angel for an altered fairy tale swap but I am having trouble coming up with ideas that are turning out wrong. I started feeling stressed about it and realized that was no good so I tried to contact the girl I am making the package for to get inspiration but she didnt write me back. Then I wrote the swap organiser to ask for help and get ideas but she hasnt written me back. I have written her two messages and waited a few days but maybe I havent waited long enough for a reply.

This is ending up being more stress than fun and I still want to be a swap angel sometime but I just wish this was turning out to be a better experience. I dont want to bail out or get a bad comment on my swap thing because of this but I also want to stop stressing out over this because that seems silly.

Does anyone know who I can contact or what I can do? Thanks!

I guess the sickness is going around...I have the worst stomachache and dizziness, and I am sore all over.

On a brighter note, I finished writing my Psychology essay on axonal and synaptic transmission between neurons, so I am about halfway done with my homework for the weekend! I do have two tests next week, so not much can be done craftywise, but I just realized yesterday how close Spring Break is! I can't wait!!!!

Thanks, Always.  My antivirus busted my system's memory and I used the time meanwhile to keep on looking, and I found the black skirt, so I think that's what I'll concentrate on.  And yes, I think I'll take a couple of pics of the big skirt to show it and ask for advice.

For the rest, my current stash is big and varied, so I can renew my whole spring wardrobe without buying anything (well, maybe interfacing).  I'll use my forced holidays on that, get some smart clothes "for nothing" to look good in my interviews, and perhaps even prepare that portfolio to sell bags at the local shops.

Oh, and I found a good lot of things to mend while I was looking for the wips.  Maybe we could propose a Mending Week.  I'm sure it'd take some of those out of my way... I always put the mending/alterations off because I prefer to do something from scratch.

Get better soon, CraftCrazy.  Crafters needs you! Cheesy

Ageddert, I am not sure whether I understand well that thing about altered stuff, although I've seen quite a lot of it going on around here lately.  Let's see if you can get something out of my proposal...
I would find a picture of a fairy and outline it on a nice piece of material to embroider it, then make a perfume pillow with it to sleep well.  Or a mirror with a face sculpted on the other side, in memory of SnowWhite.  Or take the three Gruff goats and make them into a set of stationery organizers.  And the troll could be the pencil pot.

Could you maybe do a really simple project, like an altered kids book where you could just glue pages in that you find online or something?  Which fairy tale is it?  I might be able to help more if I know which story it is...

And as for the swap thing, I wish I had some advice, but I really don't. I have never been in a swap until now so have never angelled for anyone or had to get in much contact with the swap organizer or the person I'm sending to.  Hopefully someone else will have some advice on that end!

If you aren't getting PM's from the person you are angelling for, and you haven't been able to contact the organizer, the next step is to contact the swap mod for that board.

Also, remember that you have a couple of weeks to get things done.  As long as it isn't a really big swap, that should be plenty of time to get things done and mailed.

You can also start a few projects, and add the theme once you know what it will be.  You can make things like coasters, needlebooks, journals and tote bags without adding the theme, then add them at the last.

I haven't really accomplished anything this week. The hubby was sick, then the kid, and now it's my turn. Sad I did get some felt cut for my name books, but I've still got a lot to do.

As for making a knitter now, I think I would use golf tees glued into drilled holes, or pegs of some sort.
I would use dowel pegs. The kind that are slightly tapered on the ends. It would make slipping the yarn off easier.

That makes sense.  They have those dowel pins with grooves in them for connecting things.  They are also tapered on the ends.  They might work. *runs off to find tapered dowel pins*

I don't know about the tapered ones. If you look at any looms, whether the Knifty Knitter or another one, there are always heads on top of the pegs, like nails. As long as you don't cast on ridiculously tight, golf tees might actually work! Drilling holes and gluing them in also sound like a good idea. If you want, you can experiment with different widths of the holes, and see how your knitting looks from the pegs being further apart or closer together...hope you have fun!
