FeastYourEyes... I'm using a calendared rip-stop nylon. It's coated inside, and will be finished dfferently than this one. Here's the first one I made for the dog swap... The ones I'm doing now are going to be lined, with a bit of added warmth.
Here's the front view:

Here's the back view:

I tried to link the dog swap. It seems like I still can't figure it out!
I'll post a pic of the new ones after the lady recieves them.
Thanks for looking! K

Cute! Lining them is a great idea. Where did you get the ripstop? I don't think I've seen anything like that at JoAnn's.

The scarflet is absolutely beautiful...I love the edges...

oh cute coats!! I am sure your partner will really like them!!

Feastyoureyes--I have seen ripstop at Joann's--it is with the sports kinda fabrics--near the spandex, netting, etc. I only have white now but am looking at the various other colors...thanks to KLKing, I learned that there are different kinds and weights depending on what you want to do with it--like make banners!!!

I'm going to whittle away at a few projects here tomorrow - hopefully I'll be getting my quilt machine up and running (fingers crossed) if not I will get as much done as I can and then work on other things on my ever growing list!

Looks like everyone's still doing great!!!

I've been slowing down on the completing things part.  I have a whole bunch of new WIPs but nothing finished yet. lol  I started my recycled bag (for the challenge), fabric curlers (have some sewn and the rest of the material cut), coffee filter rose bouquet (lots cut out, 3 made but not painted) another ds case that I need more felt for AND I started making myself a dress (threadbanger's $10 wedding dress).

I hope to complete one thing soon so I can show off all my work!  lol

About the rip-stop. My brother was in the advertising balloon business.
I was and still do, make Air Dancers. I have 4 years worth of production scraps stuffed in about 10 GIANT bags... Made out of the same stuff!
Some of it is parachute quality, some is different. I think I have about 4 different types of it, and lots of fabric on rolls. But, It's not like I really want to get rid of it, the stuff is valuable.
aside from air dancers... a fan operated balloon you see outdoors...
I've been making windsocks, and totes. Now I'm doing these dog coats.
I think there are other great ideas for this stuff. I even tried crocheting some selvedge strips, and it kills me to think how much has gone in the trash... ALL Of IT! But, I get it wholesale, and have some sources that require large purchases. So, when the yardage is gone, we have a problem!
Things were great when my brother was selling!
I'm going to take some progress pics. I'll put them in the member's gallery tonight. If anyone wants to see what airdancers are, you can check out MYSPACE or Blogger link I have here.
Thanks! K
