never again will i preform a granny square blanket, although my boyfriend was excited for it ... i was a little over zealous and finished it like right before christmas.

bonus shot of us enjoying it

was inspired by the raccoon mario rug that's on here Smiley i don't have the link though.

How adorable!  And I'm not surprised it took forever.  they start off fun to make but get annoying when you remember that you have to sew them all together.

It looks great.

Out of curiosity, how did you join your squares?

i sewed them all together with the matching yarn color, that was the hard part. i would realize i sewed a line of squares together wrong & then have to take the WHOLE thing out, towards the end i just wanted it to be over, the up of this is that if it ever breaks, i can just get out my needle and sew it all back together!!!

everyone else, thank you for you kind words Smiley

Wow wow wow wow! That's so awesome!

Actually, I'm in the process of trying to make a blanket myself that's 8-bit. I want to do granny squares and I'm planning on graphing it out but I dunno how take it from the graph to the blanket itself. (I just put a post in the help section but so far no responses Sad ) Did you use a graph for this?

my brother made me this graph & im not sure if this is the technical way to do it but then i counted up all the black, yellow, & red squares and kept count of how man i was making. (i also imposed a heart on there, i didnt know how to so i just make it up as i went. when i was sewing it together i sewed them blocks of 4 at a time, i would not sugguest doing this, i had to take so many blocks apart because i didn't know which 4 block went where, or i had sewn it together wrong. I suggest doing it in like blocks of 10 across and 10 down or in rows. don't forget to post the picture when your done!

Maybe this year you could make pillows to match for when you snuggle on the sofa - like a couple hearts, pacman, mrs. pacman, a ghost or two.

I had the same problem with my pikachu quilt! But instead of sewing it, I crocheted mine---looks like sewing it gives it a little more length, right?

I thought sewing it might be faster, which i still think it was but i don't think it gave it any extra length. Maybe a little more stretch, which probably isn't a good thing!but other than that i think the length would be just about the same!
