Moving to Vegas in August

I found my apartment! woo woo.  I'll be living in the northeast side, just a few minutes drive to my elementary school. It looks pretty nice.  I was going for no commute, so its perfect.  And all my necessities are at the corner of my street, so im pretty pleased.  As I said, i'll be getting there in just under a month. I hope both of you settle in nicely.  Best of wishes!

P.S. The Beauty Bar in old town right near the fremont street experience is awesome.  Its a bar, decked out as a 50s hair salon, with original furninishings from a true 50s salon.  Wicked cute,  $4 drink specials AND the best part, theres always a manicurist there who does free manicures.  It was definitely a highlight of my week there.

Hey there I am kinda sorta a Vegas "local."  I've lived here for a couple of years and sometimes that's as close at it gets here! 

Have a little 7 month old so I don't get out as much as I used to and I just started sewing and doing random crafts again, so it would be pretty fun to try to get some sort of group maybe and do different crafts each week or couple of weeks or month I dunno I have never been to one of these type things before!

So I moved in on Sunday and already i'm feeling pretty lonely.  And what better way to make some new friends than over some crafting.  I dont know how comfortable you all are with swapping phone numbers and making a date, but im in, i mean hey, crafty broads don't exactly scream crazy psychos... at least not usually..

Any ideas, suggestions, propositions, ect?

Hey all, I was wondering how everyone has done since moves?  Has anyone gotten together yet?

I saw an ad for a Craft Fair and posted about it here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=52646.0 maybe we could plan an outing to go to it or something, I've never been to one here... so I have no clue what to expect.

Well, I've just finished my first two weeks ever as a fourth grade teacher.  Thats draining, let me tell ya.  Completely time consuming.  But, my 33 little monsters have potential. 
No ones gotten together yet, but i just pm'd/emailed you three my contact info so hopefully we can actually do something. 
The craft fair sounds fun aschnelby.  Thats got potential written all over it. Perhaps even something before that.  The only friends i have out here are ALL other teach for america teachers.  I need someone to talk to where we dont always, ALWAYS focus on our day at school...

Awesome! I was just married on Saturday and we just finished our long haul from Texas to here. We've spent a grand total of 2 days at our place. Unfortunately with the trailer of... crap we hauled we couldn't fit my car on it. I'm car-less until the hubby's parents drive it up here for us. Hope all of you are well!
