i want to make a doll (similar to a pose doll), but I can't work out how to make her stand up, without looking like a stiff soldier.  I've tried little lumps of clay, extra stuffing and cardboard, wire and washers for her feet, but nothing looks right.  Does anyone have any good ideas? I don't really want to have a wire holder that she leans on (like mini Blythe dolls).

it's all about getting her balanced when you make her, with the size of her head, angle of her neck ,stringing,  size of limbs and her torso (hips to head ratio).  If all else fails, you can put some of that gummylike temp adhesive on her shoes to hold her in place.  You can also put the stand under her clothes so it isn't so obvious.
