MareMare and I will be playing clean up and revamping the board and we want your input.

What kind of features would you like to see?
Would you like regular challenges?
How about featured projects?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I would like to see more tutorials on various sewing techniques - get several peoples ideas on how to do a particular task would be nice. People eventually have their own way of doing certain things & if they are willing to share, they can put them here. I am always searching for that technique on how to do a certain task & to have them in one place would be great. A lot of people come to Craftster to get more info & to learn, so I think those having those here would be great.

Definitely more tutorials for things that appear simple but aren't to everyone. Cheesy  Featured projects would be great too, there's lots of great seamstresses on the Purse board. Smiley

I'd love challenges and featured projects!  I'm all about the tutes, too!  Is there a purse/bag craftalong?

I don't know of a specific purse craftalong. Anyone can start one though! Wink

Featured projects rocks!!

And as tutorials seemes to be a hot topic here. Why not make three "Completed projects" categories instead of two?

Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General
Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed
Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: With tutorials

Then people would have no issues finding the tutes and it would probably ease the work for the mods Smiley

Ooh that's a good idea. But I'm afraid that every board would want it lol! I do encourage people to add the word "Tute" or "Tutorial" to their titles when they have one! Hmmm, the more I think about it the more I like it, I might run this by the admins!

Maybe all boards might have use for it Wink This webpage is a wonderful place to get inspiration, ideas, feedback on created things etc. if you are in the "inventive mood". But sometimes (..can only speak for myself here..) when you dont feel like inventing something from scratch it is just fun to make someting after patterns, descriptions or blueprints. I think this also would contribute to crafters status as a knowledge exchanging place. Not just a showroom. I know that craftster is not just a showroom but if there were subcategories for projects with tutorials on all boards, craftster would also target diy people that dont want to create from scratch in a more direct way.

How about product and pattern reviews?  Or even a post with 'where to purchase X needed for pursemaking'?  Not sure if that'd go against the rules about advertising though. Perhaps for those new to purse making, maybe some definitions of common purse parts/terms?
