Originally we were going to make our own archway out of driftwood.  Now that the time is soon approaching, I just don' thave the time or energy for something like that.  We are getting married in a hall, and the backdrop is kinda...ick.  We are going to hang 2 long lengths over a wire hung about 12 feet up, and have it drape down to the floor.  On either side of the muslin, flanking the officiant, we are going to have 2 large plants.  Probably dracaena...but maybe something that is more compact.  Worst case scenario...we will rent 2 topiaries for the day.  The bases of the pots will be wrapped in burlap, as it is also the table runner on our tables Smiley

Those branches would be perfect for an early spring or mid-fall wedding.

I have finally settled on what I'm doing.  I am going to arrange a couple dozen weighted helium balloons to make a kind of wall behind the cermemony area.  Afterward we can move them over to the buffet tables where they will help to make a visual barrier for the part of the hall we're not using, cuz the hall is freaking huge!

I can get the balloons filled and delivered at a rate of $8 per 25 balloons.  So, I'm getting 100 and using half of them for the centrepieces, which will be a cluster of three balloons anchored to a 6" disco ball.

Now, I just have to get a deal on table linens and I'm rocking!
