I made this cross stitch for my younger sister's birthday...then I didn't manage to finish it, and gave it to her 5 months later for Hanukkah. I made the pattern using screenshots from the cute anime Lucky Star (and also added some stars, obviously); the four protagonists are portrayed in characteristic moods. I'm tired of giving people cross stitches framed with electrical tape, because that is just not classy, so I made a frame from fabric. The characters are done with full squares; the background is done in half-stitches so that the characters stand out. It is about 12 x 9 inches and is done on 18 pt aida cloth, which I don't intend to ever use again, because the tiny squares are a pain!
Without further ado:

And a detail of Tsukasa:

Hooray! More anime in crafting! Grin As soon as I saw this on the home page, I yelled out, "Lucky Star"! You did a wonderful job and it makes me want to make some anime inspired crafts.

This is great! I was wondering how you transfered the images to be able to make it a cross stitch? I would love to trans some of my daughters favorites and make them for her. She really wants one of Chi!

I found some screenshots online, overlayed a grid in photoshop, and then just looked at it and decided which color was in each square (with a lot of anime, there will be one color for light and one for shadow on each object, so it's not very difficult to figure out how squares fall in each region).
