I was inspired & used the template from this quilt:

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=257623.0

And I came up with this:

My dad is really big on model railroading, so I made it for him for Christmas.  All of the trains are out of train & fishing motifs (he also loves fly fishing), as well as some checks that remind me of the shirts all the model railroad guys wear.  Wink  The surrounding fabric is blue & off white ticking - it reminded me of railroad conductor hats.

I am collecting cotton Hawaiian fabric scraps for a quilt if you wanted to send any my way!

That's super cute.  Your dad will cherish it I'm sure.  My daughter who is going through a choo choo phase would also go mad for it!

I love how this looks, and especially the fabric you chose for all the outlining.

You used my template Smiley - I'm sorry it's taken me so long to see it, but I've been away for a while.
