Woo hoo! I've made one small! Yaay!

Luckily I have some vacation time now so I have lots of time to plan and craft. I have most of my ideas together, but I still have some more anime to watch research to do before I really solidify everything.

Woot! I got two items done!!! I need to start on my idea today!!

I have a question for everyone, do you go by the cost of the item or by the time you spent on it to figure out what point it is?

I usually go by the actual size of the thing with a secondary concern for how long it took. Like, even if it took me two or three hours to make, I would still only count a finger puppet or a bracelet or something like that as a small.

I go by quality - not to say that small means crap, but that something cute and dinky is a small, but something that has subtance & shows work, that's a medium or a large.  THough I do tend to mistake large/quality with large/size and freak out a bit if there's not something large in size.  ^^;  The problems we make for ourselves...

I'm still kinda new to the whole point/size thing, but I usually gauge by the size and effort it took to make and factor in the cost of the product (not exactly what it cost me, but what you would pay for it) and Not necassarily time it takes me but the effort it takes. For example, I would consider a hand painted wine glass as a medium and a set of 4 as a large. It only takes me 30 or so minutes to paint a glass and I can paint a set of 4 in an hour or two.  And size wise, glasses are a medium in my mind. But hand painted glass sets on etsy go for like 40.00$, thus I consider a set as a large.  But a small pillow or a plushie I would also consider a large. Because It takes me a great deal of effort to make them. It's hard for me to wrap my brain around measurements. But you can go out and buy a plushie for under 10.00$. And earrings I would consider small, because of their size, unless I had done something amazingly difficult while making them. But these are my personal guidelines for myself when I am making goodies and I have no idea if that makes any sense. But there ya go.

I'm still alive. Only one item down hopefully until I have everything to make the things I want. I do have everything I need for the largest/scariest items though so I'm hopefully doing to have that done by the end of the weekend!
