Hi ladies - just an update on me.  I may not be quite as active in this thread the next couple days.   A pipe burst in my building and though my condo is fine (so far, hopefully, my fingers are crossed), we all had to evacuate until the water gets turned back on, which will be sometime between 24-48 hours and ... sometime after that. :-|    Yeah.  But I'm looking on the bright side that my condo wasn't flooded when several were so I am EXTREMELY lucky.

On an amusing note, what were the first things I packed up for my stay (other than my bunnies which have to be boarded as my mom has a dog ... ah, unexpected expenses!) ... oh yes, it was the fabric for the fabric swap and the little stack of papers on which I've written all your particulars for matching.

My priorities may just be a tad out of whack.  

Added two more people today, by the way, though I think I'll try to get partners posted Friday night (which I know is closing it a wee early, but there you have it.)  Hope that's okay with everyone - if you know anyone who's planning on waiting until the last minute, please let them know to join earlier, rather than later, otherwise they may miss out!

haha that's dedication, I'm itching to get started on this swap, have my ideas, know what I'm making and now I just need to time to get cutting and sewing. Super excited to make some things I've not tried before, yay for swaps!

P.s My hubby also will not compromise on Cable either, he won't even enter into a conversation about it despite me telling him that we would be able to pay off my school fees earlier meaning we get to buy a place of our own earlier, amazingly TV is more important to him... go figure!

Alright I caved. I said I was not going to join another swap and I did...I am just learning too much and seeing too many kindred spirits here not to join in.

KAZ !! I am so sorry that you and your bunnies are displaced. That stinks even if it is for only a few days. Hope everything get solved quickly.

Speaking of beans, I packed hummus and broccoli in my 6 year old's lunch today.  He opened his bag on the way to school and said, "Salad!  Thanks, mom!!"  I wish all kids were so easy to please. 

For those of you who don't eat hummus, it is soooo yummy AND cheap to make yourself.  It's mostly chickpeas.  I just did a google search and allrecipes.com has over 40 hummus recipes.  I think I'll have to try some of them.

Speaking of hummus, I had a pot of garbanzo beans soaking while I was at work.  I brought them with me (along with the tahini I picked up after work) and plan on cooking them tomorrow.  They're in my mom's fridge, but I'm too pooped to actually cook them now.

Do we think they'll be okay without being cooked straight away?  (I have very little experience with beans that aren't from a can!)

OK, so I have a question....I know we need to craft items for the swap but since it is frugal, what if say I have a partner that needs bed linens for example and I have three closets full of German bed linens...I am a bit of a hoarder, it is something I am trying to fix. ...anyway the question is...can you fill a need for a partner and that be part of the swap as well?

I don't see why not, so long as it's okay with your partner.  I think a majority of it should be crafted, but filling needs is also good!  (Maybe a non-crafted can count as a small?)
