Amazing ideas!  LOVE the plarn thing.....if only I knew how to knit or crochet.  I wonder if you could hook it like yarn hooked rugs?  

I've used plarn to make plastic canvas boxes.  I've even seen plastic canvas and plarn used for earrings on Etsy. 
Re felted soap, I'm curious as to what the felting is used for.  Is it for exfoliating like one of you suggested?  Do you use store bought bars of soap or do you make your own when you felt it?

Oh and thanks to donniesgirl for posting about Dave Ramsey!  I just opened a savings account in order to get a credit card with a lower rate (gah, citibank ... 24%??? Really?  Now I'll be down to 9.9% ... easier to pay off sooner!) so his site's gotten me ready to rethink my budget in the coming year!

I was soooo glad we were following his plan when DH got laid off a couple months ago!  We had been chunking extra money at my car loan & literally paid it off the same month his company shut his division down.  So there was several hundred extra dollars in payments we didn't have to worry about!  If you can't catch his radio show, he also has a free podcast.

Dang, that is awesome! Not that he got laid off, but that you guys had your things in order. You never know when something like that will happen..it pays to be prepared!!

The felting, besides making the soap 'pretty', does indeed exfoliate and the lanolin in the wool helps moisturize your skin.  I've only used it for a short while (it was a newly discovered craft I thought I'd try).  I'm making some for my friend and her husband who are both avid gardeners.  The wool felt will help clean all the dirt off their hands and the lanolin will help their hands from drying out.  In theory, anyway.  LOL! 

I used a small bar of hotel soap for my first bar and some handmade soap for the second bar.  I don't make soap...always wanted to but haven't given it a try yet.  In the meantime, I'll continue to support the artisan soapmakers and buy it.  LOL!

I love working with upcycled felted wool.  I wonder if you could make  faux felted soap by sewing a little pouch to encase the soap.  I guess it would be kinda the same thing as the soap savers?  Would it be reusable or is it a one time thing?  I've never used felted soap before incase you can't tell.  LOL
