OOohhhh, ahhhhhhhh, if my partner could fling some candied ginger root my way, I'm be blissed!  Not only is it yummy, it is also great help with car sickness when traveling.

If anyone has a thrifty way of making candied ginger, please give!!!

Personally I'd start by growing your own ginger Wink I have some in a pot outside my front door. I hope today isn't killing them  (current temperature 37.5C at 5pm. It's been getting warmer as the afternoon goes on)

OK, you hereby officially ROCK!!!

It's surprisingly easy to kickstart some ginger. I bought some organic ginger from the supermarket, cut it into 4 pieces, and stuck them into water for a few weeks.

Now they're out coping in the real world. I hope it grows well and hardy. I make a lot of spice pastes, and I prefer to grind fresh ginger rather than use ground.

Hey Tanza, your in Australia, where do you get washing soda from?
Ever since having my third bub I seem to go through washing liquid at an insane rate.

I love the idea of doing a pantry inventory too and a menu planner, I really need to get back a love for my kitchen.

woolworth's has it and so does coles.
Make sure you get the granulated not the crystals.
in the washing ilse near the sards

and the cheapest place for borax is bunnings in 1 kg tubs.

wow that is so cool Kitten,

I must confess I have gotten free plants from bunnings by breaking little bits off them and popping them in water when I got home.....at present I am looking for spearmint( not peppermint) and roman Chammomile.

oh and a new lemon tree, my old one died.....anyone got one they can spare  Wink

Oh, people from all over. It's going to be another one of those swap packages that the post office lady yells at me for because she doesn't understand what I've written on the package.

The last one I wrote B.C. and forgot to put Canada after. The one before that I wrote "Cardiff, Wales" and she griped... Where IS that?!

I think US postal service employees should be required to take a lot of geography classes.

Ninzip and I discovered we actually live in the same small town in the Netherlands! So if we'd be partenered I could bring her package walking or by bike; how frugal is that!  Grin

I live in Wales and hate it when people say it's in England!!!!

Addendum to the main post #2:  "Also, if you have consistent and recent dings on feedback for poor communication or sending late, I may not approve your application."

Smiley  Just an FYI so we're all on the same page.

That is so awesome! (And clearly I need to read more closely because I didn't notice that!)  But unless we get another person from The Netherlands, I'd think your chances of being paired is pretty good. Wink
