Once, monsters were helpers, along with the elves, to Santa Claus.  Alas, their long arms sometimes got in the way, knocking over Christmas Trees and stacks of presents.  The elves were also very jealous of the monsters, because, although they were very ugly, they possessed large, marshmellowy hearts.  They devised a plan to ban the monsters from the North Pole.  The plan included starting a rumor about cousin grinch and his trying to steal Christmas.  Santa, with a heavy heart, banned the monsters.  They sadly left, but vowed to one day prove the rumors wrong, and return to the North Pole triumphantly.  That day is still to come, but there is one Monster, who travels the world with his bag of gifts, and goes to the houses of children that Santa forgets.  The gifts are usually misunderstood, though.  Really, what kid wants socks and underwear for Christmas.  Ah, well.  I guess Monster Claus' heart is in the right place.

Merry Christmas, everybody!!!
