I just love this idea.  Are the legs just knotted fabric ribbons?  Or is that the beaded part.  Just can not tell from the photo.

For the legs I used biased tape and kinda cut it "beetle-leggish". Then I sewed close to the edge, because I wanted it to frey a little to make it look hairy. There is no beading  on the legs, just the carapace.

I don''t work at the zoo. I'm just a volunteer. I get to tell people about the animals. It's really cool. If you have a little extra time left in your week, check out your local zoo. Most of them accept volunteers.
