I'm a docent at the Detroit Zoo. I needed a little purse (just for wallet, phone, chapstick and a little flashlight to point out frogs).  I didn't find a cute one in the shops, so I decided to make my own in bug shape. The beading took the longest.

The bag is made out of quilter's cotton and the wing part is made out of some sort of sheer (this really inspired the purse)

This shows the backside (since it's a zoo purse I thought I'd go with leopard print), The inside fabric is covered in little black ants. It also has a little pocket for my cellphone.

How's it hanging! ...This way Wink

Thanks for peaking!

Wow! The work and detail is gorgeous. I really love the unorthidox style. I hit the "this rocks" button. It is unusual for me to get out of the "home sweet home" section. Today, I'm glad I did.

Great idea and execution! Don't be surprised if people start asking you where they can buy one : )

This rocks!  I love the sheer underwings and your beading is perfect.  This is the cutest bug I've seen  in a long time!

Oh yes this DEFINITELY rocks - what a creative and amazing project! You put a lot of work into this bag, and it shows - it's just lovely (in a buggy way, of course!) Smiley
