Alrighty...while this is definitely not my first cross stitch, this is my first time posting any of my works so I hope this works  Grin

It is tradition that every year, I cross stitch something for my boyfriend for Christmas. This year, I decided to make Harley Quinn from the Batman series.

This is the first time I have made my own pattern...I used a free program I found online to make the basic pattern, which I changed or adapted as I stitched (if something seemed weird to me). I used a pic I found online...someone's drawing.

The piece is 8 x 11 inches. I used the plastic 14 count sheeting so it is a little misshapen right now. It will lay flat when framed but I still need to go out and buy a frame! All in all, it took me about 2 weeks to complete...about 100 hours total.

Completed Project:

Close Up of Stitches:
Harley is cross stitched. The gray inner portion is a variation on mosaic stitch while the outer blue frame is byzantine stitch.

I hope he likes it as much as I am pleased with it!  Tongue

It is quite amazing how well Harely's shape translates into cross stitch. But even more amazing, is the little smirk on her face.

Beautifully captured.
