I've been waiting for this fiber Friday and it's late here but I guess I'll start one anyway.
I received this beautiful batt from elociNNicole in the IYP 14 swap.
It was so beautiful I had to spin it right up.  And this is the yarny goodness still on my Kiwi!

Thanks again elociNNicole!

Happy Fiber Friday everyone.

Okay so I took some pics finally of some stuff thats still on the bobbin from ages ago....... I hope it all plies up right since it's been sitting for much to long...

Hand pulled roving from Freestyle, spun up on the bobin.. still have 1/2 of it to go...  Hoping to try some coil with it.

And finally a FO!! This is from dyed roving I spun sent to me in a swap by Oddacity.  A crocheted
starghan!  I think I'll leave it this size, as its more as a lovey blanket for my belly friend if said belly friend comes out a girl.. Cheesy

It actually plies up better if it's been sitting- the twist has 'evened out' and is less likely to twist back on itself.

Hopefully better late than never. I've been too swamped with end of semester work.

First I finally got to spin a second single and ply the green superwash I showed like two weeks ago. It's 224 yards, my longest homespun so far!

This one was spun with the very colorful single from last week. The colorful single is wool and merino, a natural white single and a strand of metallic thread.

You can't really see the thread but it's in there and it's pretty!

After cleaning off my bobbins last week I started spinning this lovely:

It's 4oz. of superwash merino. At first the colorway, called Thieves, struck me as pretty but in a sort of ugly way, if that makes sense. I absolutely had to have it.  Grin

The colors are spinning up beautifully with lots of twists of blending colors. It's so much fun to watch the colors coming together. Even after drafting a bit you still can't really tell how it's going to look in it's yarny stage. This is what I'm getting so far though!!!

Just look at those twists!  Cheesy

Lariarocket -
That yarn makes me think of crocuses...or is it croci...whatever the plural is that's what the yarn reminds me of. My favorite spring flower! The purples, yellows, greens and white...beautiful.

lariarocket when I looked at the wool roving, my first thought was "ergh, how awful"
by my goodness it looks glorious spun up!
What a shock   Shocked

Love the purple in there with the yellows.
It's yelling out "hat!" to me

don't you all just love how an "ugly" roving turns into beautiful yarn?   that is quite a gorgeous color combo!

That's why I call my thrown together batts, "Ugly Ducklings" ... they alway turn into 'swans'!!!

I've been busy spinning and knitting or crocheting to get orders and Christmas gifts out .... no pictures though!
