I made this Kimono this weekend,

Its a basic styling from my Simplicity's Simply the Best Sewing Book.  I tried to do the tie a little different... I made the under layer from the same fabric as the kimono, large and gathered like a cumberbund, and then I added a contrasting tie (from some fabric I had laying around) with a light color on one side and a dark on the the other.  There is just enough to wrap around twice for a little visual appeal.

Not bad for $7.00.  Smiley

Rather lovely. May I ask about what kind of fabric the shinygreen stuff is?

Its a Rayon/Polyester combo - no brand name on the bolt.  The wrinkles are pressed in the fabric, which I think looks quite nice.
