Crafting to keep insanity at bay.

I've made a couple of altered puzzles before and I think with each one I improve a bit. Here's my latest for the STS Holiday swap. I had so much fun with this one

Here's a few of my favorites close up; amusing abe, star girl, love sax, scissors cutting, and the giggle

I did each piece separately and completely at random so they are oriented any and all ways; I really love how the color came together.

I'd love to hear what everyone thinks  Smiley

Beautiful!  You did a great job.  Even though you did it in random, it comes together wonderfully.

Wow!  When are you going to get in on the Altered Puzzle Swap?  We're just wrapping up Round 2, and hopefully Round 3 will be coming up after the holidays...

Wow, this is stunning. I'm so, so inspired and tempted to try.

Those are real elements (gems, scissors, key, etc) on the puzzle pieces, aren't they? Asking because in the photos they appear flat, but it's probably just the photo.

i love personal swaps. i'm looking to swap my art or paper crafts for some re-usable fabric snack bags, fabric sandwich wraps, fabric paper towels, glass pendants, ephemera, or art books.

I was noticing that but yes they are 3-d. There's a real key, googly eyes, a scissor charm, gem, and I used a bit of puffy paint too for some of it.

This is AMAZING!! Do you think that you could do a step by step for us?? It just looks so wonderful and I although I basically get how to make it, mine would never look so well put together.

Awewsome altered puzzle  Cheesy
How did you get the dark colour around the edges? On an inchie or atc I use an inkpad to ink the edges, but i don't get how you'd do it on something that doesn't have straight edges like a puzzle piece

LOL it was a bit challenging but I have a bunch of makeup sponges and those work really well. I just dab them onto the inkpad and then apply.

Hello! just wanted to say that I LOVE THIS! this is my second day of craftster and I'm really into inchies....but this altered puzzle idea is just great- a new twist on my love for inchies Smiley currently I use cheap watercolors on thick water color paper but I think using watercolors on the cardboard backing of puzzles would look neato!
Great job!
