My first time posting.  Please be patient with having to hit the links to see the photos.  I promise to make 10 posts before I come back with more pictures.

My husband and I own a guitar shop.  He builds custom instruments.  I make jewelry.  Looking around the shop one day I see tons and tons of used guitar strings.  Being mixed metals they can only go to the landfill.  So I bring to you my recycled guitar strings from various Nashville artists:

I'm fortunate to have a great supply of strings from all kinds of instruments - guitar, bass, violin, mandolin..........  I'm working on a heavier design for DH and I'll post that later.
Thanks for looking!

They look amazing! What a great recycle.

I love the real guitars for props too. Very creative.

Wow, looks like guitar strings are among those things you can recycle and they still look like they were made for exactly what you re-used them for...
Good job!

Ooh, maybe I can do this with ukulele strings when mine needs to be restrung. Those are made of nylon though, so I don't know how well that would work.  They might be too floppy.

omg - how great!  Your bracelets look like they are adjustable.  I am viewing correctly.   Are the other components on your bracelets also from guitars?

I'll have to ask my brother-in-law to save his guitar strings.

I like bangles, but I don't like it if the bracelet/bangle is squeezed over my hand without a way to adjust.

You must live in Nashville.  I am in TN, also.  thanks.

That's a fantastic idea! I like to work with wire, but never got around to figuring out a good project for all the strings my son regularly needs to replace. You are really clever and creative.  Smiley

This is great! I've always felt bad about just throwing my old strings away.
