While browsing amigurumis in this section I found this adorable crochet Tare Panda.http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=310185.0 Of course I wanted to make my own, and although the panda is cute I thought a cat would suit me better. So here we go...

The original pattern can be found in a Japanese Amigurumi book #1717. I used pattern #28 for the large Panda. I made the same head, body, and limbs, but I'm doing my own twist as usual to make my Cat version. I created pointy cat ears and a longer tail. Also using an 8mm hook and 2 strands of medium weight yarn held together to make it as large as I could. I'm not sure what the book suggests to use.

I managed to finish this project over the weekend and I think it turned out well.. He measures 10 inches at the widest part of his body and is 14 inches long (not including tail).  His facial features are embroidered. He's stuffed with fiberfill and marbles where added to his body for weight.

Here's the view of his back side... hehe he's pretty tubby!

Oh yeah and I named him Dooney ^_^

He is very cute.  I love the colors and the curl of the tail.
