My friend asked me to make this for him last summer. I told him that I didn't like to sew, because I wasn't very good at it. But he begged, so I eventually gave in and made him a fishing bag. He gave me the tackle boxes and I drafted it up...

It has a bottle holder on each end because he wanted a beer holder. He also asked for some fish bones on it. I even tried my hand at machine embrodery, and put his name on the inside. Needless to say, I procastonated, and he's getting it for Christmas. I hope he likes Ice fishing! Wink So what do you think? Was it worth the wait?

My brother's name is Chad, he is an avid fisherman, and I am in desperate need to find him a Christmas gift. Can I have this?

lol...it looks professional! Awesome job, I am very impressed! I thought it was a store-bought bag.

Really nice! That skelly fish's head is a little close to it's tail, but that's the problem with a lot of fish I catch.  Wink

Thanks guys. No, really, I'm not that good. Most of my time is spent with a seam ripper in hand, threading and re-threading my machine, adjusting and re-adjusting my tension, trying to figure out how to put the lineing in, and threatening my sewing machine. Somehow even the simplest projects turn into a disaster once I get out my machine. I even bent a needle making this, I have no idea how. But I guess persistance pays off. I'm glad you all like it. I hope he does too.

How come you don't like to sew, the bag you made looks terrific. I too thought it was the store bought one you were modeling your design off of. Thumbs Up!

I don't think you lack skills. It sounds more like you lack a proper machine or your machine is in need of a tune up. I frequently break or bend needles when sewing heavy fabric, everyone does. I have a crappy sewing machine and I spend alot of time adjusting and re-adjusting my tension, pulling out the bobbin and cursing my machine. Lots and lots of cursing.
