I received a box of awesomeness today!

Check out the tissue paper it was wrapped in:

Animal superheros! Which I totally dig.

Beneath the paper:

a letter, xkcd giant hamster ball embroidery & a deathmole patch (a fictional band from Questionable Content)

The letter had this inside:

a deathmole sticker!

Beneath that:

2 Cyclops kitty t-shirts (worn in Questionable Content)
I love these, but never thought of making them! The weirdest thing is that I was thinking of cyclops kitty a few days ago, before my swap package arrived.

A close up of the design:

millik, I bow to your awesome mind-reading powers.

Oh hooray! I'm so glad you liked everything. This was a really fun swap to craft for. Who just happens to be thinking about cyclops kitty? Heh.

I also received my package today from boymeetscraft. It is all so awesome, I don't know where to begin. Seriously, I was overjoyed when I got home and opened the box. Smiley Please excuse the crappy photographs--it was already dark when I got home from work tonight.

Here's a photo of everything together:

The first thing I saw when I opened the box was this little stuffy of Suspenders from Patches. It's all hand sewn and generally amazing. The outfit is incredible and I'm in awe of your ability to just wing something like this. I love him!

Then I unveiled a sweetly wrapped package of Diesel Sweeties marble magnets:

They are now on the fridge. Smiley There was also a super cute bento box style container, and the crowning jewel of the swap box... an "Original" Puke Plates newspaper ad from Married to the Sea. You must have scoured e-bay and paid a fortune for this little gem! I thought they were all destroyed in the Puke Plates Warehouse Fire of 1812! Wink

I about died laughing when I saw this and I can't wait to hang it up on the wall--absolutely amazing!

Thanks. I'm glad you liked it all. Suspenders was a lot of fun to make, and he was only my second stuffy. The advert was quite difficult to find, and the restoration was a very delicate process, but I did the best I could.

I got my package today from Camelama!! it's wonderful! I love all of the notes she sent with everything"^.^" She was very creative!

A shot of everything. Soaps that her friend makes (bath petals, lavender loofah bar, teddy bear lavender soaps, and grape rose soaps). A rubber ducky tote inspired by megatokyo. An embroidered tea towel with largo's famous line "PH34R My l33t n3kkid skillz!!"
- from megatokyo. The flying trunk from 9th Elsewhere. The flying hamster Boo"^.^".

Close up of the tea towel

Close up of Boo

Close up of the trunk

My camera batteries are all dead and are charger isn't working anymore, so these pics aren't the best. I will be making a youtube video of everything later today and will post the link once it's uploaded.

Thank you so much for hosting this wonderful swap and being such a great partner! I had such a great time crafting for you and loved getting addicted to new web comics! We will have to do another round of this one day"^.^"

Thank you Camelama!

Great job, camelama! I don't read those comics, but I may have to now, just based on the adorableness of that flying hamster.  Cheesy

And his wings are detachable, like in the comic.  Smiley  I'm glad they got there in good shape - the mailing place lady wanted to smoosh everything into a smaller box.

I must have made about 6 different versions of the flying treasure box, and nothing worked out. It's now become my mission to make an actual sized flying box on a necklace chain, dizzer!  I WILL PREVAIL! (I couldn't figure out how to attach the feathers without ruining this box, so just stuck 'em in there - I WILL PREVAIL!)

I loved it! I thought it was brilliant. My hubbie was so funny, he saw the bird feathers sticking out and said "Did someone send you a dead bird?". I would love to see the necklace whenever you finish it!

Oh, and I'll share with the whole group what I told dizzer .... I was stuck in the ER waiting room, on pain pills, waiting to see a doctor, for about 3 hours. I just happened to have the towel and thread with me in case I had a spare moment during the day, so sat there and embroidered Largo's l33t n3kk1d phrase. You can tell I was pretty messed up, the end result made me laugh out loud the next day when I can across it.  Smiley Smiley HEE.  I decided to send it as-is because it still makes me laugh to see it.  (It was just a twisted foot, nothing broken/badly torn, just very painful. No cast or anything, yay!)

Yay! I received from Dizzer!

First up is a necklace with a few characters from various webcomics that I like.  This made me laugh out loud when I saw it, because of the third character.

First there's a trilobyte from Girl Genius:

Then Flaco the Lizard from Sheldon: (wearing a hat, if you're wondering why he has a huge brown head - sometimes he likes to dress up)

And then this fella. BELKAR! He is a hairy-footed halfling from the stick-figure webcomic "Order of the Stick". (It's a great comic about D&D adventuring) He's evil and violent and nasty and yet .... he's one of the few truly honest characters in the strip. Everyone else has hidden agendas and various personal non-group goals and secrets and dangerous mysteries... he's just violent. End of story. Plus he allows everyone to be who they want to be without  uestion.  And he adopted a cat in the comic, Mr Scruffy.  Anyone who adopts and takes care of a stray all-white cat is good with me!!

AND THEN.

Then she sent a wonderful item.

One of my favorite comics is a very simple one, Shi Long Pang the Wandering Shaolin Monk.  Dizzer made me SHI LONG PANG!

That's Pang in his big hat and his monk's robes. What a perfect little Pang - his head really is that big and round. Smiley  Dizzer got his eyes and smile just perfect!

I LOVE IT.

WOOOO!

Smiley

She also sent a drawing from Dreamer, but somehow the photos of that just won't come out.  In this light my camera can't seem to focus on that white paper. So I'll try again tomorrow whe it is supposed to be a bit sunnier!

THANK YOU Dizzer!!!!!

I recieved and this was one of the best swaps ever in terms of what I got.

From Girls With Slingshots, everyones favourite Irish accented Barrel Cactus, McPaedro. (Sorry about my disaster of a desk in the shot)

And from Jack,

Sorry about the lame watermark, my camera takes pictures in an obscure format and the converter I found puts that watermark there on the trial version.

Cheesy I'm glad you liked your stuff, Dukemanistan! I was really proud of how well McPedro turned out, and I hope you can get use out of the pillowcase. I used fabric markers cause I thought it'd stay flatter/smoother that way than paint or an iron on. I wouldn't want to sleep on an iron on, anyway.

I have another picture of McPedro:

Mm, I got a package for this swap from an angel finally.
A cut paper picture of the main character from Gunnerkrigg Court

Magnets with characters from a bunch of webcomics, the middle two are a robot bird and coyote from Gunnerkrigg Court. The right two are Philippe from Achewood and Choochoobear from Something Positive. On the left is a girl from Subnormality but I can't place the top one.

Here's everything together:

Besides the two above there's also a little handmade doodle pad in the bottom right and some keychains on the left of Philippe form Achewood and Coyote from Gunnerkrigg court. The keychain part keeps falling off so I think I'm going to use them as bookmarks, which I never have quite enough of.
Thanks, angel, and Camelama for working on getting me a package in the first place Smiley
