I completed my first quilt for my nephew's 4th birthday - he LOVES Thomas the Train and I found an adorable panel for the front and then a few smaller Thomas prints for the back. The front is a whole piece panel and the back is comprised of five pieces - there is diagonal quilting and I sewed the binding on with a top stitch. The finished size was about 45x48.  Please let me know what you think - you are all such an amazing group of talent so my crooked diagonal quilting and oddly stitched binding may be far below your level but I am so happy to have found this craft and this board! Thanks, in advance, for your comments/advice!

Angela

I love this quilt!  I'm sure your nephew will love it, too.  I think you did a great job.  It is so therapeutic to do crafts and quilting is so much fun.  I hope to see more quilts from you on here!

That's a fantastic gift.  I'm sure he'll love it.  And the back is a great idea.  I love the pieced backs I keep seeing.  Your quilting looks good as well.  Keep on quilting, it's good for the soul.  Smiley
