A couple months back I got a button maker and went on a bit of a button rampage (haha)

These look great. Can I ask what type of button maker you used. My daughter wants one and I am not very familar with them. Thanks. Also, any tips appreciated.

yes! I have the cheapest one available (i think it was 30 dollars?) from Badge-a-minit http://www.badgeaminit.com/

you need to put a little strength behind it when you're pressing the buttons, but it yields pretty professional results.
