Nectar (hummingbird necklace)

My mother is really happy that I finally finished this! I've been working on the design off and on since May. I've made one for my mother, and one for my grandmother... but she decided it was larger than she likes so I think I'll be making a smaller version for her soon. Hopefully. The silhouette is brushed steel, and the chain is sterling silver. It's about 3.5" (88mm) wide and 3" high, so it's a nice statement necklace for a wedding or formal party. It took ages to clean them after piercing, but I think the end result is fantastic. I'd like to make an edgy spin-off sometime. I originally wanted to pierce it from sterling, but the branches are just so thin I think it would be too delicate - it's fairly delicate in the steel also.



Maybe if I get a new camera for Christmas I can take better close ups.
