Thank you for all the kind replies. I'm glad that I've prompted the same feelings in those who've seen her as I was feeling while making her. This is the first ever doll of this kind that I've made. I have a head and feet and hands waiting to assemble a witch, but I'd not done the armatured, stuffed body before, and it turned out well my first try. I'm eager to start another one!

With all the commercialism of the season this really brings the true joy back. Thank you for making this and sharing it with all of us.

I'm not very religious either, nor do I have children, but I have a spirit and I had a mother. I'm tearing up too.

This made me teary eyed too!  I love it so much.  I collect nativities and would love something like this.  Now Im thinking Im going to have to learn to do this.  Since becoming a mother (10 years ago, now) I always find myself identifying more with Mary.  I can't imagine how she felt knowing that she just birthed a child that will ultimately die a horrific death.  I think you have captured that feeling in the look on her face.

most people already said my thoughts. This is just beautiful.  She was human after all and I think she did enjoy him as a baby and small child just as any mother would.

They're beautiful. They make me think of the song, Mary Did You Know.
Looking forward to seeing more.

Oh, this does go really well with that song!

Craftewoman, everything you make is so awesome. I just love this. I have tried finding a nativity scene to put out at christmas and have never seen anything that I like (they're either too solemn or too cutsie), this is just wonderful. I'd love to see more!
