The Christmas stocking I made for my granddaughter this year.

got the idea off a blog. The blogger, Cheerios Underfoot, has a pattern, but it's smaller than I wanted. I just used a stocking pattern I've used before, cut out some circles (traced from a ribbon spool) and pinned them onto the felt behind the stocking pattern, then cut out. Used same circle pattern for white of eye, then traced around bottom of salt shaker to get black part of eye. "freehanded" the mouth and teeth. Sewed black to white of eye, then sewed eye to front of stocking, stuffing as I went. Sewed on mouth, then sewed teeth. Then added "hanger" to inside of back piece, then sewed around outside of stocking. All in felt so no seams/turning, etc.  Here's the link

So cute! What a great idea! My daughter and I love Yo gabba gabba. This is very cool, I wish I thought of this before I made her a reindeer stocking. lol  Cheesy Yours turned out great and Oh how I love felt, it's so damn easy to work with. Good job.

I'm interested in personal swaps, PM me!

Happy Crafting! Smiley

That is absolutely adorable! I don't babysit anymore so I'm out of the loop with kids shows. I thought it was just a monster-type guy you made up. Either way I love it and I think it's great you thought outside the box while making a traditional holiday decoration. Your granddaughter is going to love it Smiley

Thanks Indiana and elmooro!  Didn't realize I didn't indicate it's a character from a kid's show - we watch it together when she stays over with us.  I didn't care for the show at first, but she loves it.  It kinda grows on you.  Whenever "her" shows are on, hubby goes out in the garage or something...
Can't wait to see her reaction!

That turned out great! I made mine tiny because I wanted to fit the pattern on a felt square, which is all I had at the time. My kids would have probably preferred a bigger one. lol. Thanks for linking back to my blog. By the way, after you suggested it, I set up a flickr pool. Smiley
