That is great - I love the colours - they go so well.  I don't think it looks like a diaper bag, though I'm sure it would serve as an excellent one if someone wanted it to.  I love the large outside pocket, it's a nice shape, and a great idea.

Looks fabulous. I make similar bags and use the magnetic purse clasps found at Hobby Lobby. Give them a shot!

It doesn't make me think of a diaper bag when I see it, but it certainly could serve as one, I would think.

Love the fabric and color combinations, and love the way you sewed it on the outside.  Reminds me of a thong, but upside down (I'm weird, I know).

Thanks for all the encouragement again!!  Sorry I've been away for a while.  I think my auto emails took a break and I didn't know all of you had replied!!

THIS LOOKS FAB! I mean super doooper! i would so buy that!!! what interfacing did you use!? design is great and colors are GREAT!!

Darla...I used an interfacing from Pellux, i think, it was like a really thick felt. So stiff that the bag will stand up by itself and now that the closure is on it doesn't sag at all!
It would take one chic momma to carry a bag like that full of diapers! I'm a college student and I would carry it everyday full of crap. I love it, the colors, the pattern, the fabric, the size, everything. Care to share a pattern?
Amazing work!
I'd be happy to share a pattern, but I pretty much made it up as I went. I ended up totally changing my idea afer I noticed it would be way to difficult to 'turn' this one.  I just made it like two bags. One bag with the lining and light green fabric and then the polka dot outside as a seperate bag.  I then put the polka dot over the green bag and stitched around the square bottom and put some small 'anchor' stitches throughout the polka dot so that it didn't sag.

ALSO... I ended up putting a hot pink buttom as the closure.  I put a button hole on one side(because my machine has an awesome button hole foot and does it all for you!!) and then sewed the button on the opposite side's inside. I works great and doesn't look bad either!

Thanks again for all the encouragement.  Off to the next bag.  After seeing this one, my mom has suggested I make her one.  Maybe Mom-in-law and sister too. These are addicting!

It doesn't look like a diaper bag at all!  Diaper bags are squishy.

Yours is nice.  I love the dot fabric!

Oh this is just lovely!  Did you end up doing a tute?

Love the side pockets!  Looks nothing like a diaper bag!
