Hello everyone,

I decided to make some ornaments this year to give out to family and friends. I made these gingerbread man "bite victims" (or whatever you want to call it) out of felt. I actually have seen this idea done several places including a cute one posted in a swap
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=326642.110;
made by blushingbluegrass ( i think?).

I started by making up a basic gingerbread man template and duplicating it. Then I made variations of bite marks. I think they turned out pretty cute. Sorry for the not so great pics....

and just for fun....

Thanks for looking! Questions, comments, criticisms always welcomed!

Those are awesome!  I love how the bitten parts are all raggedy.  And they kinda look like Mr. Bill to me in the face, which makes them extra awesome!  Did you glue and then sew them or are they just sewn?  The only felt I've ever worked with are those silly little kits as a kid, so I don't really know.  How tall are they?  I am asking all of these questions because this looks like a super fun holiday stress buster!  Plus I, too, have friends and family who would totally love these!  Great job!

KCMonkey, thanks, Mr. Bill is great. As for your questions, they are a combination of sewing and using glue. I sewed the red buttons on first, then stitched around the edges (I used my sewing machine for the ones in the pics, but for my prototype I hand sewed). Then I glued on the face and rick-rack. After those dried, I stuffed them and used a hot glue gun to close up the "bitten" spots. Oh and as for the felt, I just used felt squares that you can buy at most craft stores.

Thanks, again!

I absolutely love your ornaments!  I wish I had the patience to hand embroider/sew but alas I just don't enjoy the whole set of them!  Just too adorable and funny!

I love how their eyes are tracking the dismemberment... Very Mr. Bill-like...

And I'm so impressed with how much machine zigzagging you used- it looks good, and I'll bet it sped the project up a lot.

Those are so cute. I've seen the cookie cutters, but I never thought of making them into ornaments.

OMG I've been making these too! I have 3 done so far! I'm embroidering on the mouth and eyes though, but yours look easier so I might have to copy for the rest :-) I love the "bite me" ones hahahaha

My birthday is December every year my mom has given me a Gingerbread Ornament or something Gingerbread. I have started it's own gingerbread people tree. The only thing is they get kinda country, shabby chic looking which is fine if it's your style but mine is more quarky and Rock-N-Roll. I love these they would be perfect to Rock out my gingerbread tree. I love the BITE ME one's as well. It might be cute to make a gingerbread something that says DON'T BITE THE ONE THAT FEEDS YOU! LOL
