So I'm still a SUPER NOVICE seamster. (haha see what I did there?) Anyways, I bought some new work pants and they are 26W, they fit great except for the waistband. They could go maybe an 1" or 2" out to fit comfortably. I found some tutorials but they are all talking about letting out seams down the crotch and it all sounds super complicated. So I was wonder if all you lovely people would know of something really "level 1" simple I could do.

if it's just the waist, you needn't touch so many seams.  Just undo the side seams at the waistband, or if the waistband has got only one a seam at the back, then undo that.  Check whether there is enough allowance to re-sew in a better place so it's a little wider.

If there is not allowance, it's going to be more complicated.
