I was given the brief "something christmassy" for my daughter's xmas pageant... when asked what she'd like to go as, my daughter said "a volcano"...ooook then.

suffice to say she's not going to be a volcano for the pageant, but I did have to promise to make her a volcano outfit in order to placate her into being happy to dress as a little miss santa (pics on tomorrow after her dress rehearsal Wink )

here it is!! volcano poncho and matching hat. omg I love that girlie!!

here it is without a child in it

and here is the stone coloured fleece fabric, and some of the appliqué of the red fleece.

the whole thing has cost me less than £5 because I was able to use quite small pieces of fleece, both of which were on sale at a local fabric store lol!!

as a side-benefit, if she ever needs a "dessert with strawberry sauce" costume, you've got it covered.

on the other hand, i suppose there could be something christmassy about volcanoes... sparkling, um, sparks?  chestnuts roasting on the open lava, perhaps?
i doubt i am anywhere close ... children's logic has a reason, it might be just not the reason we could guess.
